A: For skate roller skiing, most people use a fairly new skate boot. A soft, worn-out skate boot, however, does not have enough ankle support and will lead to bad technique (horrors!), so you might have to use your regular winter skate boots. In either case, if your boots get sweaty or wet, try to dry them out as quickly as possible so they don’t get stinky.
If you are classic roller skiing, look for a boot with some flex in the sole. Many people prefer to use a combi boot for added ankle support.
